Helping a Family of New Immigrants
Gataso serves in the IDF as a security guard at a college in Jerusalem. He moved with his family of 8 to Israel from Ethiopia in 2011. They live in Kiryat Motzkin.
Gataso and his family face extreme financial hardship. His father, the sole provider for the entire family, earns only 5,000 NIS (about $1,400) per month. The family struggles to survive because they lack basic necessities. Gataso has started to work on the side to help bring in a little more money.
Vision for Israel did not stand by idly as Gataso and his family struggled. VFI happily donated a refrigerator and a variety of other basic household items to Gataso and his family to help them during in their transition.
It is often quite difficult for new immigrants to settle into Israeli life. Helping new members of the Israeli community is central to the mission of Vision for Israel.
